Hi all,

iam learning jstl.i have added standard.jar and jstl.jar to my classpath.
iam using Eclipse Exadel studio.I wrote some sample code using jstl core tags. But i have read that for using tag libraries i must put a corresponding .tld file for each tag library in /WEB-INF directory and use taglib element in web.xml to include tag library. But i dont find any .tld file in my /WEB-INF directory and taglib element in web.xml.Are they optional?

Thanks,
Vinod

You don't have to do it anymore. The container will look for the tlds in different places, like for example in the META-INF directory of your jar files. All you have to do is explained here :

You don't need it either. The container will automatically map the uri from the TLD.
