can you connect via a JDBC driver of some sort, to a flat file that is pipe delimitted i.e. :
20000002197|||2||KING GEORGE V AVENUE||
20000002198|||4||KING GEORGE V AVENUE||
20000002199|||6||KING GEORGE V AVENUE||

usually your desktop will have a microsoft text driver in its ODBC driver list. If this doesn't satisfy your requirements, you can search google for many other JDBC text driver solutions.
