lock on MS Access 2000

hi,
Im using MS Access 2000 for my application..Sometimes while im deleting or updating the table rows, it throws this exception..
Exception occured in DbConnection exeQry() [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access
Driver] Could not update; currently locked by user 'admin' on machine 'RAJEEV'.
wat cld be the reason for this lock ?? how can i avoid this ?? cld any1 help me ?

Did you have Access open at the time? (In particular, did you have the view of the table open is access at the time?)
Having the view open in Access prohibits any other application from modifying the data in that table--you will get this error if you do so.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
