I've built an Entity EJB, very simple, just one table. When the client calls create on the home interface, the ejbCreate method puts out its logging messages, followed by the ejbPostCreate. It then hangs. The database is Oracle 8.1.5. Anyone have any idea on why?

Can you post your code / XML schema around this bean?
Are you using sequences to autogenerate the primary key or manually setting?

The primary key is a String, supplied in the home create method.
Are you thinking the transaction type might have something to do with it?
I'd better leave off the code due to the nature of the subject, not classified, but not for release.
