This happens only at work. I have a WinXP loaded, desktop.
I cannot login into Javaranch using Firefox browser (2.0.0.7).
After I enter my credentials, nothing happens, the status bar on the bottom right of the browser shows no progress. It takes eternity and nothing happens.

But this does not happen with IE (6.0). I can login successfully.

By the way, I use proxy to connect to Internet.

Has anybody faced similar kind of problem with Firefox logging into ranch via proxy?
Strange!

At home, I have Vista business and direct connection. I'm a Firefox fan and never had any problem logging into ranch using Firefox.

Any poninters on what could be the problem.

PS: This also happens for Serverside.com using Firefox at work.

Hmm. I'm currently using 2.0.0.7 and JavaRanch quite happily. I'd suspect the proxy not the browser.

Make sure you haven't disabled cookies in Firefox.

I also suspected proxy.
But again, the same proxy setting work with IE.
So, the problem could be - proxy with firefox. (Again- How can it be? Because other sites are accessisble?)

After a bit chewing, I now suspect, the problem could be while submitting FORM of POST Request via a Submit button through a proxy?

PS:Also I have enabled cookies.
