Drag and drop is only in java.awt.dnd?

Do we have a swing drag and drop package?
Is java.awt.dnd a reliable thing to use?

dnd uses a lot of native resources so swing cannot make much difference than awt.dnd is working and a nice utility found in java is'nt it?

I thought there was a new API for drag and drop in 1.4. I did a search and found this, not sure if it helps or not.

Seems jdk1.4 added a little dnd to swing.
