First of all, this is really more appropriate to the JavaRanch forum, where we usually discuss the successes and failures of the Ranch. Anyway, could you post a link to the message which recieved no replies, so we can see what the problem was?
I don't wish to pre-judge, but usually when a question goes unanswered, it's because the people reading it couldn't understand the question. If this happens again, you might want to try restating the question, maybe giving more details or a short code example to help people understand what you need.

*******This is my personal opinion, since you asked******
********************why no responses*********************
I feel you were kinda (a little) asking me to solve your
project and give you the code. IMHO, this is too much to
ask. I have used javaranch to get clues about what I am
missing when I am trying to put something together. If I
think I did according to the documentation, but still it
doesn't work? Such types of things are what I look for on
the javaranch.
Not a whole project. I might have read your posting wrongly,
if so I apologise. But from what you said, it conveyed that
meaning, so I din't respond.
Hope I answered my part of the puzzle.
I hope others will also participate, so that I know if I
mis-read something. (I am sure Amit will say that. )
Do you feel like this....
ps:
Did you see your other recent posting which gets active responses. http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/002604.html

Had you searched the forum, you would have found a similar topic a few weeks back. It suggested a jspSmartFile bean at www.jsptags.com under the heading Bean Libraries
