I don't have a free book for you but I do have a hint. You should not think of JSP as replacing Servlets. If you are going to learn JSP you should learn Servlets first.
The servlet and JSP API specifications are not a substitute for a book but they are essential. You can download these API documents in pdf form from java.sun.com
