The point is i am new in working with servlets
so can any body of u big guys help me out in understanding --middle level
concepts

Sure, the only way to get to tmiddle is to start at the beginning:
Fundamentals of Java Servlets
Then move on to more details with say:
Java Servlet Technology

In addition to the links that Carl gave, you might want to have a look at in my opinion very easy to understand books written by Marty Hall, Core Servlets and Java Server Pages and More Servlets and Java Server Pages. You can actually get the core book in PDF free from his website http://www.coreservlets.com
