double encoding of url

Hi,

Is there any practical use of doubly encoding a url?

String enc = response.encodeURL(url);
String doubleenv = response.encodeURL(enc);

I came across a code which does this but was not able to figure out any use? Has anybody come across this scenario and felt the need for it?

Did you try and see what happens to the url , I think it might be some programmers mistake.

What if you wanted to use a URL in a parameter in another URL? I haven't really thought this one through, mind you... Also doesn't appear to be what's happening in your example.
