I suspect there are default security options in Win2K which must be changed.
Remember, 2K is an NT derivative, and as such has 'built-in' security. 98 is essentially a Win3.1 derivative, and as such is 'wide-open' (i.e. has essentially no security at all).
Suggestion: In 2K, set up a userid/password which exactly matches your 98 userid/password. Give that userid appropriate permissions. I currently do not have a 2K system, so cannot give more specific advice.
Luck and Regards, Guy
