I am running a servlet on a server which takes the current date and time and inserts it into a database. However the server is 3 hours ahead of the local time and therefore the time being inserted is 3 hours ahead.

Does anyone know how I define the time using the locales of the users machine rather than the server?

Hi John,

Use Calendar Class or its subtypes (GregorianCalendar). There you can set Locale of User
