It's packed in the src.zip/src.jar that comes with the JDK.

On this page at java.sun.com you will find a link for getting the 1.5 source code. Registration with Sun and agreement to a simple license is all that is required. Earlier versions of Java included src.zip with the download - I guess it has just gotten too bulky. The src.zip for 1.5 is 56MB - note that certain security related classes are a separate download.
