Hi,

Runtime rtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process child = rtime.exec("/bin/bash");
BufferedWriter outCommand = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(child.getOutputStream()));
outCommand.write("/users/scripts/softlinks.sh "+file_location+" "+file_location1+" "+a_mib_names);
outCommand.flush();

I added the above lines to the exising code now i am getting the following error.

java.io.IOException: Not enough space
at java.lang.UNIXProcess.forkAndExec(Native Method)
at java.lang.UNIXProcess.<init>(UNIXProcess.java:52)
at java.lang.Runtime.execInternal(Native Method)
at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:566)
at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:428)
at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:364)
at java.lang.Runtime.exec(Runtime.java:326)

Pls let me know. Required Immediately.
Thanks

As our FAQ, How To Ask Questions On JavaRanch states, Ease Up. We're all volunteers answering questions in our free time, and everyone wants their question answered immediately.
As for your question, a quick Google search turned up this page which indicates that your problem is caused by too many open files or not enough file descriptors. Is the code calling close() on every file it opens?
