I need to write a program that "manually" inserts information retrieved from a non-Microsoft program into an Access database. The program should move the mouse pointer on the screen, copy some text, make a few clicks, and then paste the text on the Access database. I'm not interested in using SQL to fix this problem as the data won't be retrieved from a database that is accessible to me. This is a data entry problem that could be solved easily if only I could write a program that does all this for me.

Can I do this using Java? If so, how? If not, what programming/scripting language should I use and how difficult would it be to do this?

See if java.awt.Robot does the trick.

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
