How can I profile a j2se application to record all the strings created

Hi,

I have a Java application, and I want to record all the content of each String that it creates. How can I do that? Can a profiler do that? My understanding is a profiler can only record the number of String created, not the content of each string.

Some products do indeed record this kind of information (when you choose the appropriate options, of course), but you have to realize that running an application this way will be very slow and will require lots of extra memory.
