I'd love to write a book on Perl, but I'd be surprised if I did. The great - and terrible - thing about writing a CPAN book would be the selection: the gigantic, huge selection of modules which you could never, ever do justice to. (Try looking through the list of XML parsers; I heard it was over twelve. I haven't counted, but it's definitely a high number.)
I'm half considering writing a book on Python. My next book is on Ruby, and I'm *very* excited about it.
Take it easy,
Dave
