in Scotland rings several ScotRail helpline numbers to no avail.
He then rings NAtional Rail who connects him to an advisor in Bangalore who is able to advise him of points failure.

Rail staff on the train were unable to provide this information.

At the other end of the on-shore offshore spectre - Barclays is recruiting branch staff to deal with customers face to face, having previously closed many branches in the wake of the birth of the internet.

AFAIR,150-200 jobs were supposed to be trasnferred by that company.

I wouldn't mind if the actual trains went. None of this trainspotting sport for me.
