Had such trouble with earrings last night.

Do men notice or even like rings on women - ear, nose, belly, tongue ???

Did Joseph put himself to all that trouble finding a room at the inn because Mary had some ornament dangling from her body? Did Palaeolithic woman find she got an easier time of it with a glittering object stuck to her ear, touching some cord in Palaeolithic man ?

I do notice it but the only thing it does is tell me something of the taste of the person wearing the stuff.
Tonguerings and noserings (except in cows...) turn me off immediately.
Bellyrings will usually be invisible (certainly in winter ) but also turn me off.

In all I think of them as self-mutilation usually

I only generally notice typical jewelery if it's really tasteless or if for some reason it catches my eye as unique and interesting. A stud in the tongue often looks like someone has food in their mouth, although I can certainly appreciate the purpose behind it.

Jewelery, as I see it anyway, serves mostly to emphasize the overall femininity of the wearer, which helps may help make the woman seem (or feel) more attractive. Personally I could care less. Of course, I'm not one who's big on makeup on women either for the most part (plus it doesn't taste too good).

I'm generally take points off for all piercings. Same for tattoos, painted nails, dyed hair, high heels, make up, etc. A sort of depth of character is measured as an inverse to aesthetic modifications.

Women do these things to look attractive. You do know that benefits of beauty dont you? If not, the theory of evolution will fill you in.

I used to like wearing earrings but not anymore- now i feel that i look much better without any makeup/jewelry. My significant other agrees ( why not, he doesn't have to worry about buying that stuff anymore!)

I agree with most of that. But I think tasteful (small) earings can be very sexy.

I'm faithfully married, so I don't look for the little things the way I used to look or notice those little things. Looking back... I think it says something about a women. Character reigns, but a little creativity and spice never hurt the equation. The only ring I didn't like was the one downstairs. It was cool for about 1 min or two, then it got old real quick. A really small nose ring is sexy. I really like the boldness of a woman with a shaved head!!

No, I think just the Tonguerings in cows.

Stan you are always quick on those things. By the way, I tried that link you had posted, but www.mywebsite.com didn't work either.

If jewelry impresses me, it must be subliminally, because I am not consciously aware of being impressed by jewelry. Maybe it helps attract attention (like a huge red bow in the hair). When I see tatoos or lots of piercings, I think "hepatitis."

Make-up is a different story. I never liked make-up that looked obvious or dramatic. But I saw an article in a supermarket tabloid recently that showed Hollywood celebrities without their make-up, and while some of them no longer looked particularly pretty at all, others looked positively hideous. So I guess make-up is valuable to conceal the effects of aging, but on a fourteen year-old girl it's kind of pointless (except maybe to make her look trashy).

My wife does not have pierced ears. I guess I found it attractive that she didn't feel the need to impress anyone with them.

The extra sparkle with a nice evening gown is cool though.

As far as other piercings, an eyebrow or sometimes nose ring looks good on the right girl. Not a big fan of the other locations.

Aging, it must be terrible for woman, especially if they never had any real love by 31. I remember a lady giving out poppies for rememberence , I thought she was middle age and thus far to old for me to date. Then I find out she is one year younger then me but she has no makeup on. I always seem to overestimate peoples ages this way. When I see people my age, look their age, it makes worry about my age, and it make me feel old.

I agree. If they wear the jewelry I give them, it shows good taste!

Seriously, earrings or the lack thereof are part of a woman's look. It contributes to her appearance - whether it be sublime or bold, classy or brassy.

Lack of tonguerings, noserings, bellyrings also contribute to a woman's look. Tattoos contribute to a man's look as well as a woman's - the look in question being that of a member of a motorcycle gang.

On the makeup - I used to think I didn't like makeup on women, until I actually saw some women without their makeup on. Low quality makeup seems to age the skin faster than high quality makeup.

Alot of views.

I assume, that age and culture affects ones view upon what looks good
and not. So for starters, im 24 and live in Denmark.

I do hope we notice it (and compliment it).. atleast we should, since
women often go through alot of trouble to look good. I'll, however be the
first to admit, that I do forget to say anything/doesn't notice it.
(with hell to follow.. I might add )

I find jewelry in general (as with makeup) nice, as long as it compliments
the clothes, and doesn't take away all the attention.

I dont mind tongue piercings - I find this kinky (if it "fits" the girl)..
but it might get old after a while. The same goes for belly rings.

Tatoo's, btw., are a big a no no.

D) facial hair, not OK
E) body hair,OK
F) body hair, no no
G) earrings, OK

Oh, forgot these

R) Well manicured hands
S) French manicure
T) Work gnarled hands with short nails
U) Gnarled with talons - (work just not an option)
V) the same with toe nails

Now should one just have one look or is there any appeal in the seasonal look? Some things grow and grow you know. It also depends on waxing and waning moons.

French girls seem to dress very well, they find what saits them and stick to it. They don't just ware anything just because it is fasionable.

In France you will not see girls ware tight-up tight-up jeans with them gut hangover it. Is small tight ass with big belly the fasion here in UK.

A, B and M) Kinda hard to hold a ruler up to. I know I've met some women that didn't catch my fancy, but then they opened their mouths and started talking about some pretty heavy duty engineering. Hubba hubba!

Some women are pretty smart but seem to want to waste their lives on crap. A turnoff.

C and D) I once met a woman that had a little beard on her chin. Turn off. I've met women that had a heavy dose of peach fuzz - not a problem.

E and F) I once met a woman that had a whisker growing out of her nipple. I thought this was a strong testament to not being vain. Big plus.

G and H) Prefer no earrings.

I, J, K and L) Any other piercings is a big turn off.

N, O, P, Q) Prefer zero make-up.

R, S, T, U and V) Apathy. Painted nails are a negative.

Braided hair is a plus. It's a vanity that for some reason I really like. Dresses and skirts are something I really like. Accomplishments and passion about something are both big plusses.

In moderation and all the right places...

G) earrings, OK
If stylish, so no huge monstrosities

J) facial rings, not OK
L) body rings, not OK

M) IQ between 80 and 154

N) Rock Queen diva make-up
O) Grandmother, mother and daughter make-up (minimum cover, nude)
P) Glossy front magazine cover make-up
Q) Defensive make-up
To each her own, I've seen grandmothers wearing more makeups than rock queens
Limited makeup is fine.

Definitely seasonal. The dark brown color of mink coats just isn't suitable for the spring sunlight of April.

Can't get rid of the image of the whisker growing through the ...

For the assessment to be complete ..

W) Visible panty line
X) The builder's bottom, in the face exposure and unavoidable, that's where the knickers or plain bottom are clearly visible and half a foot above a low trouser or skirt waistline
Z) Modern wispy material that has the same effect as whale-bone corsetry worn in ages past- Is it healthy to have a belly jostling for internal space with the heart and kidneys ?

Ellen, I was going to say both wallflowers, then remembered Audrey Hepburn did a lot for UNICEF, following on from her experiences as a WWII refugee in Europe.
And Vicki Zhao looks as if she might pack quite a punch underneath that demureness.
