David, how are the coding examples in the book constructed? Is there a single application that is built over the course of the book, or does each chapter build its own example?

Each chapter has one or more individual examples as I prefer to provide simple, focused examples that clearly illustrate the topic at hand, with as little irrelevant code as possible.

The last chapter, "Putting It All Together" provides an example that illustrates using many of the technologies covered in the book together. The example application in that chapter uses JSF/Visual JSF, JPA and EJB 3.

I would really like to read the book and try out the examples and decide on switching over to Netbeans from Eclipse.
