Ajax refreshing Whole page instead of part of the page

Hi All

I have jsf page with ajax enabled and It is suppose to refresh the part of the page when the user clicks on a link with in that page. It is working as expected in My local server and browser. But it is refreshing whole page when i run tha pplication on test server.
Server version on my machine and server are websphere 6.1.0.9 .

Another is that the same application in Firefox refreshing the part of the page in both local and server applciations. Can some one tell what i need to do to work this in IE6.
