Check out this sentence:

Rachid Arhab, one of the only well-known minority broadcast journalists in France, says that he lives with the resentments touched off by the bloody war of independence that Algeria won against France in 1962.

This somehow doesn't seem right: one of the only well-known minority broadcast journalists. What do you think?

I agree, it doesn't sound right. I think the article meant to state that minority broadcast journalists are not well known in France, but it expressed it in a very clumsy way.

Looks to me like it started out as "the only well-known minority broadcast journalist" but then it was incompletely edited. It should probably have ended up as "one of the few well-known minority broadcast journalists".
