I am looking into using xquery in my java application. XQuery for Java API (XQJ) seems to be under development at the moment, so i am going to use Datadirects xquery.

I thought that JAXP on jdk 1.5 would include xquery but not at the moment or am i wrong?

Thanks,
Shane.

No, there's no Java standard for XQuery yet (maybe you were thinking of XPath, which has been in JAXP since Java 1.5?).

Saxon (on SourceForge) also has an XQuery implementation.

No i know there is xpath in JAXP, just wondering why XQuery has not made it in yet. Its not a problem i will just try to work with Datadirects xquery instead. Thanks for the reply.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
