BBEdit is a very capable product. It also has a "light" sibling called TextWrangler which is free.

Hi Ulf thanks for your response I will check it tonight, just a quick question does it support column editing ?? for example if I have something like this:

abc12356789
abc12356789
abc12356789
abc12356789
abc12356789

and i want to add a new number for example "0" between "c" and "1" will I will be able to do it for all the lines in the same time ?? I don't know if I explained my needs.
