Is there a way to catch the browser's events inside the web application ?

Hi everybody,

my boss asked me if it was possible to catch the browser's events to add some functionnality. I need to catch two events. BackPage and BeforeClose (I mean, before the browser is closing).

Backpage is simple. But for the other I don't know if it's possible.
