limitations of ubuntu live CD.

hi all,

can someone tell me the limitations of ubuntu live CD...

I have a windows vista... and am running the ubuntu live cd.... but i am not able to view all the folders that i created in windows vista.

How can i view the folders (folders where i store music, videos etc) that i created in windows vista from ubuntu linux???

You will need to mount the Vista partition. A Google search of ubuntu mount ntfs should yield lots of help.

That's not really an Ubuntu limitation. Microsoft keeps changing details of how NTFS filesystems are internally organized and they keep those details secret, so there are no 100% reliable NTFS drivers for Linux. Usually you can get a driver to read NTFS, but not to write it, since writing could possibly damage the NTFS partition beyond Microsoft's ability (or willingness) to recover.
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
