My wife and two year old son are flying from Mumbai airport to Los Angeles in September. And I am little worried about how that experience is going to be for my wife and son.. Mainly because my wife will have to control my son..( who is hyperactive !) and also manages 6 bags in total.. 5 check in and 1 carry on.. I tried searching for airport porters / skycaps in Mumbai and Los Angeles airport but didnt find with anything useful.. So fellow ranchers.. do you have any experience with this.. do you know how we can arrange for porters / assistance for managing luggage ? Ideally I would like someone to meet my wife at Mumbai airport.. assist her with the check.in.. and at the arrival gate in Los Angeles to carry the luggage to the parking lot.. Can this be done.. ?

Thanks

Rohan.

Contact the airlines you are flying with. Usually they provide assistance on request, i.e. to first-time flyers, aged passengers, people who dont speak the regional language etc.

At most airports you'll find porters waiting near the baggage claim areas (or ways to contact them).

Alternately, porters may be found at the airport bar, along with stouts, ales, lagers, and more.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. My wife spoke with Cathay and they said that porter can be arranged in LAX. She just need to tell the air-hostess / airline staff on arrival and they can arrange it. But unfortunately they can't arrange the porter in Mumbai. So half of the problem is solved, half still remains.. Chetan ..will PM you.
While googling for this came across this link.. may be useful for someone
