What is the Family (Celeron/Pentium)?

Whenever I'm about to buy a computer part, I check out the reviews in sites like anandtech, find out the equivalent offering from rival companies, do a google search like "Intel Celeron 2.66 GHz vs AMD Athlon 3000+ review" , see if there are any known issues with the product (ex: overheating) and try to find out how bad they are, if I can live with them etc..

It's not just similar to multiprocessing, it IS multiprocessing.
A dual core CPU is effectively 2 CPUs on a single chip.
