Thanks. Are there any books for SCDJWS 5 like how we have the RMH book for the prior version of the exam. I had actually bought the RMH book and had planned to study/take the old version of the exam..but never did. Now I see that the new version is out...is there any recommendations on which version to take. Are the topics in the old version still relevant an useful in the industry or is it too outdated ??

Thank you Ivan for sharing your notes. Have you passed SCDJWS 5 exam ? If so, please share some details
about versions of standards included in your test (soap, wsdl).

Hello!
I am sorry, I cannot help anyone that has problems with downloading the study notes except as I do in this posting - it is not my server and I have no control over it.
As an alternative, for those who have problems, try the following link:
[link deleted, since there is a newer version]

I have not done the SCDJWS 5 yet, the study notes are not finished...
Best wishes!

Hello!
The problem is on your side. I have downloaded the document from both places and tried it in three different readers, all without any problems whatsoever.
Good luck!

Hi Ivan,
It looks like you may be right on this. The version of Firefox I was using failed to download this, however IE was successful. I hate it when that happens!

Seems to possibly been some issue with the firewall. Turned it off and it worked... possible coincidence. This is a monster of work Ivan, thanks for your work on it!

New version out. Completed section 11.
Please respect the following:
I do not email this document to anyone, I do not provide special or alternative versions, I do not answer questions privately.
In fact, I am not interested in anything except feedback regarding the contents of the study notes that can improve the quality of the document.

Strange, after around 600 downloads of the previous version I have not received one single word of feedback that can improve the document. I cannot believe that I am such a good writer, so I blame it all on you people!
Best wishes!

Hello Ivan,

I will give you a full feedback once I will have pass the test. I'm studying hard with your book, it's nice to have examples who works, great job.

What would be nice in your book is some questions (multiple choice question like at the exam) at the end of each chapter, to ensure that key concept have been read, with some advice given with the answer, like enthuware does. It would encourage to learn what we have to, and train us a lot.

See you,

David.

Hi!
Regretfully, there is a limit to the amount of time I can invest in a project like this, so I am not considering asking mock questions. The study notes are written in my spare time and I still have to make a living.
Feedback can be given prior to taking the test:
- If you find some error in the study notes, let me know!
- If you feel something is unclear in the document, do not hesitate to ask a question in this forum and refer to the study notes.
- If there is anything else you feel would improve the study notes, please let me know!

Best wishes!

Hi Aruna Ravi,

You can use the same link to download stuff provided by Ivan i.e. http://www.javaforum.se/jforum/posts/list/549.page .

I have download the Ivan's stuff today itself from this link. Its working fine and if you still find some problem then check

with your network setting as it some time shows some malfuntioned pdf type error and stops downloading content.

Hope it will work.

Hello!
So, now the study notes are finished - all 12 sections covered.
I urge everyone not to trust me, but to verify my writings using specification documents and references I have given in the material.
I've also seen that someone has prepared for the test by reading my notes only, something I do not recommend.

As always, if you find something wrong or feel that something is unclear, please contact me here on JavaRanch and I will try my best to improve the study notes.
Many thanks in advance!

Oh, another thing:
I make my study notes available freely under a very generous license. If you reproduce the material in some way, I ask you to give me credit and to include a copyright notice.
Here is someone that copies large chunks right out of my study notes without giving credit:
https://sites.google.com/site/scdjws5/SCDJWS5-Study-Notes
I wonder if this is Sanat Padhy's way of saying thanks...
Best regards.

You might get surprised when your study notes will be sold by some "online stores", like it happened with my free java certification guides.

P.S. hint - there is a report abuse link at the bottom.

P.S.S. Great job on preparing the notes !

best regards,
MZ
