AccessControlException applet not inited

I am getting following error on running my html file in which i have called the applet

java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission user.home read)
at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(Unknown Source)

I have written the .class file correctly in the code attribute used in applet tag.

There are many things applets aren't allowed to do, including reading the "user.home" property, just like the error message says. See http://www.securingjava.com/chapter-two/ for more detail.
