jndi not getting clear picture.

What is JNDI ? I am not getting clear picture. According to me JNDI is like o java object maintained by JVM from which we can get he object that are registered with JNDI. Am i correct?

JNDI (Java Naming and Directory Interface) is an API which is a service so with that you can use a name to lookup for a particular resource (eg: an object).
 
With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
