Teach yourself how to use JavaScript and DOM scripting to create websites that deliver the dynamic user interfaces, fast response times, and special effects that today’s users expect...all in a single book!
To get you off to a fast start, section 1 shows you how to code, test, and debug applications using a subset of JavaScript. Then, section 2 then covers all the rest of the JavaScript essentials. By the end of it, you’ll know the complete JavaScript language and some elementary DOM scripting. And you’ll be creating bulletproof web applications, like the form validation app in chapter 12.
To get the most from JavaScript, though, you need to use it for DOM scripting. So the second half of the book shows you how to do that at an expert level as you build applications that run slide shows, rotate headlines, provide animation, and more. In fact, the sample application that ties it all together is a rotating, 3-dimensional carousel of images that the user can control with the mouse or keystrokes.
