Failing to start

Hi,
I'm trying to start Tomcat from a cmd window but it doesn't appear to do anything and no logs are produced so I can't diagnose the problem, all I get is 4 lines telling what environment variables it is using. Any ideas?

That looks like it started OK. The process runs in the background, and will write all further output to log files - check the C:\apache-tomcat-6.0.20\logs directory.

After running the startup.bat type in your browser http://localhost:8080/

if it shows the tomcat webpage then your tomcat is up and running...

If not then there is a file called bootstrap.rar in bin folder ......Just to make sure run the shudown.bat and then bootstrap.jar and startup.bat ...

It must be working fine for sure.......

Well it wasn't starting because it didn't like a value in my environment variables, there was no logging and no seperate window to tell me this, I had to retrace my steps one by one to find the issue, nice

Actually there was a window, it just opened and closed real fast.

You can change the last executable line of startup.bat to use "run" instead of "start" - this will continue the next bat file in the same window.
