What are the executable lines of code

Hi,

What are the executable lines of code infront of which i can put the break point to debug through say RAD/eclipse
( I came to know that
response.getWriter().println(new Date());
is a not executable code. not sure why)
Is there is non executable code as well? if so what are the differences between them.
Any links, ideas, sample code, resources highly appreciated. Thanks in advance

It definitely is executable. What may be happening is that Eclipse isn't running through its internal build cycle, or it's not updating some indexes, or something like. Therefore, it's confused about what is actually on the line that you marked. If you are doing an external build and just attaching the debugger to an external process, the breakpoint should still work, despite what Eclipse says.
