Hand over your car keys to your friend and ask him to take the old lady to safety.
After that, how you "save" the dream girl, is totally up to you. Who dares wins, but remember, No means No!
My friend is obviously the hearty type. he can ride on the hood. Everyone gets saved.
I hate these kinds of interview question. "Microsoft asks puzzles in interviews and they're successful, so if we ask puzzles in our interviews, we'll be successful." It's the worst kind of cargo cult thinking.
The response is very simple:
I will save my friend and old women... (Firstly - old women and then my friend. First of all she is old and she is woman, also she will die after some days as you said. Also she is in the place as your mother. So don't forget that it possible that this old woman may be the mother of your friend.)
But beautiful girl of your dream only for your passions. But it is transient feelings as you know very well. So don't forget that the wishes never get inexhaustible!
1) I wouldn't be driving a two-seater in the rain, because the only two-seater I would own would be a car that I wouldn't drive in the rain.
2) What am I saving them from? Being wet? Where are they that they can't walk to a house?
3) How did they get there? For all I know the girl or the old woman are axe-wielding maniacs that have taken my friend hostage, and will kill us both and take the car!
But then again, i have been known to overthink things from time to time....
SCJA
When I die, I want people to look at me and say "Yeah, he might have been crazy, but that was one zarkin frood that knew where his towel was."
