I seem to recall, a couple years back, bin laden told us his plan to bankrupt the U.S.:

1. We get a few terrorists to pop up at location A.
2. The U.S. boots up its gazillion dollar war machine and lumbers over to point A.
3. We leave point A, go to point B, and repeat the process...

Seems like his plan is working

My favorite part is the correlation between the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber. Racial profiling is bad. Destination and luggage profiling? Gooood.

Jon Stewart is more astute than, well, apparently everyone in the Intelligence business.

His needling of the ridiculous partisan politics going on is spot on.

"The Daily Show" has a full writing staff, many of whom also appear on camera, but Jon Stewart is the heart and soul of the show, both as host and writer.

SO true. Actually, all the "few terrorists" have to do is show up at location A, say "I'm a terrorist" and the US media will talk about it 24/x7 for the next month. All the politicians will react to the horrible threat, pass new laws, throw everyone who has any relatives of the same sex as the terrorists in jail. etc.

We will then triple the security theater that makes it impossible to travel. Grannies will be strip searched going to the mall. The economy goes into recession or worse. Then step 2 of Bert's plan goes into effect.....
