Measuring Performance of Web Service Client (jar file)

Hello Dear Ranchers,

I've recently developed a web service client for a project that'll be in production soon. However, this client.jar file will be deployed into a unix environment with jdk 1.4.2.

The client in question is an integrator between two applications and will be called by a shell script. Also there'll be huge number of transactions per second passing through this client.

I need to simulate Concurrent calls (Not Sequential calls) on this client.jar file. I need advice on tools that can perform this performance test. I don't mind Windows,Linux or Unix tools.

I've been able to solve the issue using Grinder. It's lovely tool, but requires a bit of Jython...

Cool.

You can also use JMeter to load test web services.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
