Marker Interfaces do not contain any methods. It is just used to "mark" Java classes which support a certain capability -- the class marks itself as implementing the interface.
Some of the examples of marker interfaces in java as my knowledge goes are :
- java.lang.Cloneable
- java.io.Serializable
- java.util.EventListener
- javax.servlet.SingleThreadModel(deprecated)
- java.rmi.Remote
