Quite frequently when I try to post a message, I am redirected to a page that tells me

Howdy Pardner, unfortunately it looks like you've come to the wrong page or
maybe we've gone and moved that critter!

I then have to re-type the message and it is still 50/50 if the save of the message will work and I won't get the above message again. I've now gotten into the habit of copying my message before sending it just in case I get the re-direct for some reason. One thing that does solve the issue at times is to do a ctrl-r on the page or an F5 on the page before starting to type. However, this solution doesn't work all the time.

Thought you guys might like to know about this problem. Of course it may only be me, which would really suck

Anything interesting that might be relevant? (This has never happened to me.)

1) Do you have it remember your login?
2) Do you take a long type to enter a post?
3) Do you have a lot of posts open?
4) Anything else that might be relevant in us solving the problem?

1) Yes I do
2) No I don't (less than a minute usually)
3) One at a time.
4) Not sure what else I could add.

I get that "moved that critter" message sometimes when I access the site from my (antiquated) phone.

Ian, what OS/browser/version are you using?

Recently upgraded to Windows Home 7 Premium (but had the same problem under Vista, but of course Vista as an O/S was a problem).
I use FireFox 3.6. Under Vista, I think I was using Firefox 3.5.3, but ignored the problem because I already had a ton of problems with Vista, before my laptop decided it to had enough of Vista and just died.

I would suggest that you try with a new profile (I assume Firefox allows you to create additional profiles). I realize you won't want to lose your existing profile, but creating a new, empty profile can help to determine if the problem is due to something haywire in it. I use SeaMonkey (also a Gecko-based browser) and don't have any such issues.

I wish you luck in getting to the bottom of the problem.

I'm not sure if it is a profile issue, as this is the only forum where I have the problem.
The ironic thing is that since I started this thread, the problem has not occurred once.

I'm not sure it's a profile issue either. But since it's happening to you and no one else, that seems like a reasonable diagnostic approach to take.
However, if you can't get it to happen, then hooray
