http://java.dzone.com/news/5-techniques-create-web-servic gives comparison of Ease of Implementation, Response Time and the Number of Generated Classes for different data binding frameworks. Axis2 with Xmlbeans generates 225 classes takes lesser response time than JAX-WS with JAXB(generates just 6 classes). How Axis2 with XML beans gives quick resonse time with more generated classes?
First you would have to explain why you think Application A having more classes than Application B would naturally make A run slower than B. I don't see why that would be the case. I don't think there's anything to explain.
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
