What is the use of backed collection used in java 6?

If by backed collection you mean a Collection that internally uses another Collection then it is used by TreeSet and HashSet.

Hello,

The main use of Backed collections IMO is that, they increase performance as any change in the parent collection
is directly depicted in the backed collection if it is falling in it's range. Rest other comments are welcome as well.
