Does anyone know what is wrong here?

public class Gen<T> {
	private Gen<?> object;
	
	public T(Gen<?> object){
		this.object = object;
	}
	
	public Gen<?> getObject(){
		return object;
	}
	
	public static void main(String[] args){
		Gen<String> str = new Gen<String>("answer");
		Gen<Integer> intg = new Gen<Integer>(42);
		System.out.println(str.getObject() + "=" + intg.getObject());
	}
}

No constructor:

     public T(Gen<?> object){   
        this.object = object;   
    }   
   

Is a method with no return type.
Maybe you meant:

     public Gen(Object<?> object){   
        this.object = object;   
    }   
   

I'm a little behind on type & generics so there maybe something else as well.

In Gen<T>, T is the generic type.
I guess you want Gen class to have instance variable of type T.

This can be done by declaring instance variable object as of type T and not Gen<?>
Remember that you have to change the type of method parameter in setObject() and return type in getObject() also.

I can post the code here, but want you to try making the changes first.
