'new' acceptable with primitive? - expected compiler error

This is a line from an Enthruware example, it compiles fine. I would have thought that 'Boolean' required 'new', but with 'boolean' it would error?

It's not trying to instantiate a primative boolean, it's instantiating a boolean array (which is an object).
