I read on blogs that in MVC1 the controller is JSP where as in MVC2 the controller is servlet. I didn't get the meaning out of it.
Can anyone please explain?

MVC1 combines the presentation logic with the business logic, where as MVC2 separates the presentation logic from business logic. And in the Servlet/JSPs, presentation logic is handled by JSPs, etc and the business logic is handled with the Servlets.

There is no "MVC 1" or "MVC 2" - there is only "MVC". What does exist are servlet-based patterns called Model 1 and Model 2 (which implements MVC). See http://www.javaranch.com/journal/200603/Journal200603.jsp#a5 for clarification.
