Generics Override

Hi, Please let me know how we are able to override the methods in subclass (Child1) ?

class Parent1 {
    <T> void say() {
    }

    void say1() {
    }

    void say11() {
    }

    void say2(Number number) {
    }
}

class Child1 extends Parent1 {
    void say() {//how can we override here ??
    }

    <T> void say1() {//how can we override here ??
    }

    <T> void say11(T t) { //Is it overriding ?? If so, how can we override this ??
    }

    //Name clash: The method say2(T) of type Child1 has the same erasure as say2(Number) 
   //of type Parent1 but does not override it
    <T extends Number> void say2(T number) {
    }
}

This is

<T> void say11(T t) { }

is method overloading.

You just did. If you like you can also not remove the generic too.

    <T> void say() {     //how can we override here ??
    }

Now it it overridden with the exact same signature as the parent.

This you can't do. Remember that Child1 IS-A Parent1 -- so you can't make the overridden method more restricted as it must behave as a Parent1 type too.

The error message pretty much says it all. What is it that you don't understand here?
