Hi Guys,

Here's a link to a page that provides free downloads of chapter 1 and the TOC:

http://www.mhprofessional.com/book.php?isbn=0072260882

Also, there is a HUGE (but temporary), PROBLEM with the KINDLE version of the book:

Somewhere between the publisher and Amazon, someone got confused about some of the "<" ">" characters used in the Java code, and took them to be some weird HTML

This is making a fair number of the questions pretty darned useless. grr... I am assured that the culprits are working to correct this problem, and I've asked them to allow folks who purchased the kindle edition to re-download the book for free when the problem is fixed. They haven't said yes or no to that request yet - in fact it might already be their policy to do that - I'll keep everyone here posted as I learn more.

Thanks for your patience!

Bert

Hi Bert,
Thank you so much for the link.
Could you please advise if that error has also been reproduced to the hard-copy version of the book?
I believe I will be purchasing the hard-copy from amazon sometime this month-end (or sooner).
In case the error is also there, will it cause any confusion at all?
Thanks,

Hi Guys,

It's Thursday the 6th. I just heard from the publisher that the ball is in Amazon's court as far as fixing the kindle bug is concerned.

Right now it looks like Amazon isn't even selling the kindle version. So, from what I can gather, Amazon is working on fixing the bug and in a week or two they will have fixed it and made it available for sale again.

Sorry for the continued delay, and again, as soon as I have any news, I'll share it here.
