ideeli is an exciting, venture-funded community/eCommerce company headquartered in NYC (SoHo). We are a huge cloud shop with Ruby on Rails / MySQL on a Linux / Amazon EC2 / S3 platform. Our technology teams span the globe and use various collaboration tools (Skype, IM, email, jira) to stay connected and
get things done.
Our user base (currently over 3.7 million) continues to grow and we are selling more products to more users, even faster! Our needs extend to scalability, integrations with mobile phones (WAP, iPhone, etc), integration with accounting/tax systems and other non-HTTP environments, advanced UI, and much more.
We are seeking creative, passionate people who enjoy working hard as part of an effective team.
We're a predominantly Ruby/Rails shop, but recognize when other technologies are more suited to some challenges. We are looking for an experienced software architect to add to the team and help us scale our systems to the next level. We are integrating with more external services and need to expose those internally through fast asynchronous queues. Our real time data needs are becoming more demanding. To support our increasing numbers of customers, we need to continue to refine and optimize our application.
We need smart, innovative creative thinkers to help us solve complex challenges associated with building robust, fault-tolerant, high-performance, scalable systems.
Here is why
- Our site exceeds one thousand (1,000) hits / sec at peak
- Interactive JavaScript UI and REST API’s
- Scaled front-end with 3 to 30 AWS instances and another 25 in the back-end
- New memcache techniques
- Push a Gigabit / sec bandwidth on a RoR stack
- 100 plus “add to cart” / sec
