Active/Inactive a record

Can anybody tell me that how to make a record active/inactive in database using jdbc

I dont think any DB has any in built flag to mark a record as active/inactive. Its something the DB user has to do. Either you have to flag your record as inactive, or end date a record or design some way to mark a record as active/inactive. But in any of these cases, you have to take care of marking the row as inactive/active. From jdbc, you will issue an update statement to do so.
