I have this index.jsp :
<%@ page contentType="text/html; charset=UTF-8" %> <% response.sendRedirect("welcome.faces"); %>
I got this error :
The method sendRedirect(

) from the type HttpServletResponse refers to the missing type String

One of the possible reasons is missing - jaxb-api-2.2.jar download it and place in lib folder, run the application again,
http://mirrors.ibiblio.org/maven2/javax/xml/bind/jaxb-api/2.2/jaxb-api-2.2.jar
just ignore still it shows any compile time error, it worked for me.
Don't get me started about those stupid
light bulbs
