connectivity of struts with mysql

Hi,
I want to know about connectivity of struts with mysql or oracle. Have i to manipulate struts-config or simply I have to write all the connectivity statements in controller itself. please solve my proble.

Write a class that handles all connectivity issues then instantiate that class in your controller. I usually use the singleton pattern so only one instance of the connection class is made...
